MINISTRIES & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

Zion's congregation includes many children of varying ages; we also take joy in connecting with other community congregations and organizations to provide activities and ministries for children. Below are details on some of our specific ministries.

VBS Music Camp

Vacation Bible School! - VBS is back! Join us on June 19-23, 2023 from 9-3 pm daily for Vacation Bible School. We will have singing, Bible study, Orff instruments, prayer, art, African drumming, crafts, outdoor games, service, and fun! Registration is $20/week/child for those who have completed Kindergarten - 6th grade as of June 2023. Sunday School & Children's Choirs

Traditionally, we have musical programs for a variety of age groups. Check back soon for information for Fall of 2022. For now though, please view the information below to get an idea of our programming and offerings. 

​We have 5 classes:

• Preschool (beginning at age 2 by September 1 2020)
• Kindergarten-First Grade
• Second-Third Grades
• Fourth-Seventh Grades
• Eighth-Twelfth Grades

Most classes are using an app called Flipgrid, combined with an occasional Zoom meeting.  Flipgrid allows both the Sunday School teachers and the Music teacher (Ms. Susan Swidnicki) to record short videos for your children to watch at a time that is convenient for your family.  Then, your child(ren) is (are) able to record a short response to the teacher and class.  Finally, the teacher will record a short video response for your child.

• 3) next screen will ask for your student user: 
  •    Preschool- 3rd graders use first name; last initial (first letter of first name and last initial capitalized; the rest are  lower       case) no spaces.
  •     Ex: JamesT
  •    4th- 7th grade class uses first initial (capitalized) last name (first letter capitalized, rest are lower case) and no spaces. 
    •     Ex: JTaylor

Joyful NOIZ

An Orff Percussion Ensemble for Junior High and High School Students. This is an all‐volunteer group who learn challenging music. We play for worship about once a month. No previous experience is necessary ‐ we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
