A Season of Thanksgiving
Zion Lutheran Church 2027 Stewardship Appeal
Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things.
Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts:
Our selves, our time, and our possessions.
Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts:
Our selves, our time, and our possessions.
Every Fall churches conduct a Stewardship Campaign or a Stewardship Drive, and Zion Lutheran Church is no exception. A Fall campaign is necessary because it helps your Congregational Council and Finance Committee set a realistic budget for the coming year.
Churches like Zion are totally dependent on the contributions of members to provide 100% funding for everything we are and do: mortgage, utilities, staff salaries, and outside ministries, both locally and worldwide. This is how we live out our mission statement to “Proclaim Christ through Word and deed.”
We are calling this year’s stewardship campaign “A Season of Thanksgiving.” The focus will be on giving not because of guilt or coercion, but as a response of thanksgiving for the many blessings we have received from God. We will not be
sending out letters via USPS this year; we will use our social media venues and email.
The Season of Thanksgiving begins with this announcement and will conclude on November 22, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. During this time, we will present thoughtful articles in our newsletter and occasional Sunday Temple Talks, all designed to help us think about how God has touched our lives--experiences for which we are truly thankful.
The week of November 22, you will be asked to make a commitment of financial support for Zion’s ministry in 2027. You will have the opportunity to do this online or by submitting your response on paper, in church.
More articles and information will follow. It is our intention that subsequent articles will be inspirational, informative, and helpful.
In His service,
Pastor Tony Auer and Liz Prystas
