The Rev. Tony Auer

BRIDGE PASTOR
Email Pastor Tony

Pastor Tony is one of those guys who couldn’t decide what he wanted to be when he grew up. So, he didn’t (grow up, that is). He’s worked as an elementary school teacher, a ski patroller, a professional actor, a photographer, a restaurateur, and a pastor, most of that time bouncing between being a pastor and acting on stage, screen, and television. At Zion, Tony loves to share his gifts of biblical interpretation and storytelling.

A 1980 graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN, Tony served three congregations before retiring in 2010: Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, Salt Lake City; Emmanuel Lutheran Church, North Hollywood, CA; and Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran Church, Pasadena, CA.

David Chamberlin

ORGANIST
Email David

David, who has served as Zion’s organist since 1987, is all about pipe organs: he builds them, plays them, and writes music for them.

Since 1985, he has been employed at M. L. Bigelow & Company, Inc., Organ Builders, of American Fork, where he serves as vice-president and tonal director.

He also freelances as a pipe organ tuner/technician. In addition to playing the organ, he regularly composes psalm settings for congregational use. In 1995, Zion commissioned him to compose a new liturgical setting, Lord, We Come to Your Table, now in regular use.

David has appeared in recital in the United States and Germany, including the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and Freiberg Cathedral. He occasionally performs his own compositions on organs that he has helped design and build.

His publications of choral music are over two hundred, including a hymn published in the LDS Hymnbook called "Come, Lord Jesus.” He specially composed and directed the choir anthem “Called By Name” (text based on Isaiah 43) for Pastor Michael’s service of installation on March 11, 2023.

Holly Graham

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, LET ME SHINE! PRESCHOOL
Email Holly

Holly has served Zion’s Let Me Shine Christian Playschool and Preschool in a variety of roles since 2003. Her career goals never included working at a preschool in Utah, but God had other plans. Holly moved to Utah after completing her Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Richmond in Virginia. Her first job was in the University of Utah athletic department. She met her husband Doug in the weight room and they have two boys, Brandt and Rex.

When her boys were toddlers, Holly and a few mothers at Zion formed a play group called “Little Lutherans,” which eventually led to the formation of Let Me Shine Preschool. After stopping work at the University to stay home with her boys, the director of Let Me Shine convinced Holly to work in the preschool office while her boys were attending preschool.

Holly’s passions include reading, gardening, watching football and Hallmark movies, and going to the gym with friends.
