Zion is a Stephen Ministry congregation. Stephen Ministry is a caring ministry that equips, trains, and supervises a team of congregation members – called Stephen Ministers – to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation and the community experiencing life difficulties.
Stephen Ministers provide support to people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including grief, illness, divorce,
job loss, and other life challenges. Stephen Ministers typically meet with their care receivers once a week for about
an hour, and maintain strict confidentiality. Stephen Ministers are not professional counselors or therapists, but
trained lay members of Zion. They listen, care, and share God’s love, offering emotional and spiritual support
during challenging times.
